Fatalities fall 31% in 2022, hit record low: Coal India

State-owned Coal India on Tuesday said that fatalities and fatal accidents of its workmen came down to a record low in the calendar year 2022 to twenty deaths. Fatalities hit an all-time low in 2022, falling by nearly 31% compared to 29 recorded in 2021. The fatality rate per million tonnes (MT) of coal produced was 0.028 in 2022, down 40% against 0.047 in 2021, the company added.
