Engineers India eyes non-fossil fuel business, overseas for new phase of growth

State-owned Engineers India Ltd (EIL) is shifting its focus from fossil-fuel plant construction to clean energy projects and overseas markets, according to its chairman Vartika Shukla. The company, which started out in 1965, is building India's first biorefinery, using bamboo to produce ethanol, and is also pursuing projects in green hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, fertilizer plants and data centres.
