No decision yet on nationwide rollout of satellite-based tolling from May 1: MoRTH

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has clarified about tolling system. There is no decision on satellite-based tolling from May 1. Instead, an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)-FASTag system will be implemented. This system aims for seamless vehicle movement through toll plazas. It will use number plate recognition and FASTag for toll deduction.
