MCL to start operation in two new coal mines in Odisha's Talcher area by FY 2029-30

Mahanadi Coalfield Limited will soon start operations at two new mines in Odisha. These mines, Subhadra and Balabhadra, hold a combined reserve of 35 million tonnes of coal. Subhadra mine is expected to be operational by fiscal year 2026. Balabhadra mine will commence by fiscal year 2030. MCL aims for net zero carbon emissions by fiscal year 29.
