Court bars local firm from using Volvo trademark after 30-year dispute

After a legal battle initiated in 1995, a local court has prohibited an Indian terry towel manufacturer from using the trademark "Volvo," upholding a claim of trademark infringement by Swedish automotive giant AB Volvo. The injunction extends to the company's financial subsidiary, and the court has ordered the local firm to pay nominal damages.
