Dhanteras 2025: Despite record high prices, gold keeps its festive glow intact

Gold prices have surged nearly 39% in 2025, hitting Rs 1,34,800 per 10 grams on Friday ahead of Dhanteras, while silver, after peaking at Rs 1.76 lakh per kg, eased to Rs 1,69,230 per kg over two days but remains up 81% year-on-year. Despite high gold prices dampening volume sales by 15–20%, value sales are expected to rise by 25%, with strong demand for lightweight jewellery and 24-carat coins and bars.
