GST authorities slap Rs 6.37 crore demand notice on Britannia

GST authorities have issued a Rs 6.37 crore demand notice to Britannia Industries. The bakery giant received the order from Thane CGST office. This is for incorrect classification of goods supplied between FY 2020-21 and FY 2023-24. Britannia plans to challenge the order through legal remedies. The company stated this will not materially impact its financials or operations.
